They can be round or flat blades. I personally prefer round because they have lasted longer for me.

As for the cellophane tape question, I think you are looking at an old version of the rule book. If you were looking at the 2003 version, that's an old one. Scroll down further on this page for the current rules:
http://www.dagorhir.com/dagorhir/Rules.htm
As far as I can tell the latest version doesn't mention anything about prohibited tape. Even if it does, those rules are officially for inter-realm events, and local parks can change what they like. I make all of my weapons with packing tape. Even if most of the core Dagorhir guys don't like cellophane tape, I know Rome, who is at the very heart of Dag, uses strapping tape on their weapons, and strapping tape is just packing tape with straps.

My rounds are basically just like my Amtgard swords, except I don't use funoodle any more and they are weighted to at least 12 oz.

It is a combo build........
.610 Kitespar with 1/2 inch pvc handle (Kitespar runs all the way to the end of the pvc handle)
Blue camppad
Funnoodle
Packing Tape
Spay Adhesive
Metal Slug for weight

It is very cartoonie in my opinion,
What do you think?

It's kinda cartoony, but not terrible. That's an interesting use of funoodle on the blade edges. What are the dimensions?

It's about 2 1/2" to 2 3/4" on the strike and 3" on the flat.

Blade length is 24"
