Welcome to the Grimsword forums, for one. Yeah, once I get them up and running, I will get the details put on here. As of right now, we are going to practice in Manor tomorrow, and if all goes as planned, I am going to Gates of Summer next weekend. If not, then I will be holding practice in Richard Moya Park in Austin. Most likely from 2pm until whenever everyone gets tired or until the park closes. I will find out if I am going or not withing a couple of days here. If you can, definitely try to make it out to Manor tomorrow if you can, so that you can get to meet our vets...because I am a lousy fighter.

Re: Austin Fight Day
Damn, Jakio, that's a harsh comment about Casey's cooking.
Possible food poisoning not being an issue, as it stands now I probably won't be making it out. This Saturday is Free Comic Book Day, so I think I'll be busy hitting up some shops to get free stuff as well as running various errands. Have fun, though, fellas. Do you have directions to the park in case others want to show?

Re: Austin Fight Day
He better not be talking crap about my cooking. I think he is asking because he never goes to the bathroom through the week, he just waits for us to be heading over to pick him up for Dagorhir practice.
I will give their number a call a little bit later to see if the bathrooms are open. And directions from Austin have been put on the original post.

Even if they're not they have a thin air space since they're kinda open to the environment. I could climb over if I needed to go badly enough.
Also wtf free comic book day?!?

Alright, I am not going to bother calling then because I have a 12+ hour work day tomorrow. And I would assume free comic day is a day in which you can get free comics.

Yes but you have to think what quality the comics are, who is participating, any special things you have to do to get them, and how popular the day itself is.

Behold, the wondrous power of the internet!
http://www.freecomicbookday.com/
Basically, it is a day where certain publishers print books specifically to give away in comic shops on the first Saturday in May. Kind of like a crack dealer where the first taste is free. They do it in hopes of getting new readers for their titles. Run a search to see if there are any shops near you participating.

Another Austin practice this weekend, same time, same place. Ask Dehonoran for his number if you need help finding the place. Some training and objective games planned based on the turnout.

Re: Austin Fight Day
Have you seen how nasty it is outside? Due to a low turnout commitment and the nasty weather, we are not going to be having practice in Richard Moya today. If you have any questions, call Derek at 512-573-6402.

Rain? Meh.
Sorry it got rained out. My company picnic was in Georgetown Saturday morning. Lots of people complaining, but I had fun.
I broke out my foam swords and sparred with a teammate (MMA expert) for a while, and quite a few people walked up to try... in the rain. Final total was about 15 people, including an Amtgard Knight who brought an armful of weapons. We also had an ex-Belegarth fighter show up (he did quite well).
In particular, one Amtgard guy (not the knight) kicked the ever-loving crap out of me, over and over. Using nothing but a dagger. I was fighting Florentine and simply couldn't get past that single tiny blade. I have so much to learn...
The rain never really let up. We put our cell phones and such undercover and fought in the rain. It was actually pretty amazing - once your clothes can't get any wetter, the sensation changes. Rain running down your face, dripping off your eyelashes, slinging off your arms as you strike. Really amazing and very very awesome.
Its too bad the company ended the picnic early... that was fun.

Haha, Alex's description of the rain sounds like something straight out of a Romance Novel. XD
