Prototype for Leather Helm

Need help with this. I cut out all the pieces for a cardboard prototype and it says to cut out 6 triangular dome sections and 4 reinforcing sections. This doesn't make sense I think because I thought the reinforcing strips cover where the sections join. Am I missing something?

I understand now, I saw the center strip and figured it was that piece that borders the bottom edge you see in the picture. Now I'm wondering where those are listed. Thanks for explaining it. The reference pic is a little off.

Alright finished it, progress here. It is a little clunky, slides around on my head, and rigid, but that's because it's made outta dang cardboard. I'm going to substitute certain parts for maybe chainmail, and customize the cheek pieces.
